The reasons for investment in this sector are well known: strong risk adjusted returns, an appreciating asset class underpinned by global population growth, a strong hedge against inflation, counter-cyclical returns, Biofuels policy led demand and a tangible asset that is not correlated with other financial instruments – but if only everything was that straight forward!
